Performance+ / English Immersion

Program Overview:

  • Students complete their five years of enriched English curriculum during the first three years of secondary school;
  • Development of English language skills through college-level English literature;
  • Spanish course integrated into the schedule starting in Secondary 3;
  • Choice of a profile based on the student’s interests to complete the timetable;
  • Use of the iPad as a learning tool.

Students wishing to enroll in this program must demonstrate a strong academic record in Grade 6, including an average of 75% or higher.

Regular+ / Pedagogical Innovation

Program Overview:

  • Provides a well-rounded education focused on human and social awareness;
  • Participation in sports, industrial, and cultural activities;
  • Use of a laptop or Chromebook as a learning tool.

Students wishing to enroll in this program must have successfully completed Grade 6. No admission test or examination is required (academic record reviewed based on Grade 5 and Grade 6 report cards).

Transition

The Transition program offers:

  • Support for students from Secondary 1 to Secondary 4 who experience learning difficulties, at a pace that respects their needs;
  • Instruction delivered in small groups;
  • The presence of a special education teacher;
  • Classes tailored to each student’s needs;
  • Project-based learning that fosters a dynamic environment.

No admission test or examination is required (the student’s academic record is reviewed).

Transition to the future

At the end of Secondary 3, students may continue their journey in the Transition vers l’avenir class. This program enables them to participate in internships while consolidating the knowledge acquired during the first three years of secondary school.

Afterwards, two options will be available to the student:

  • Continuation into the regular Secondary 4 program;
  • Pathway towards vocational training.

Students wishing to enroll in this program must demonstrate the will to succeed despite their learning difficulties. No admission test or examination is required (the student’s academic record is reviewed).

Profiles

 

At CNDA, profiles play an important role in students’ educational journey. Offered from Secondary 1 to Secondary 4, students choose among eight varied profiles that allow them to develop a passion or deepen their knowledge in a specific area of interest.

Each profile is designed to offer a unique and engaging learning experience. With four periods per 9-day cycle, students benefit from a structured framework that fosters their personal growth and success.

These profiles allow students to discover their talents, refine their skills, and cultivate a passion that will guide them throughout their academic and personal journey.

NEW: Equestrian

This profile is a sport that develops strength, balance, and coordination. Students refine their posture and learn dressage techniques while strengthening the relationship with their horse, built on respect and trust. (Transportation is provided by CNDA.)

Sports and Outdoors

(NEW: concentration flagfootball/volley-ball)

This profile offers a wide range of sports activities including kayaking, paddleboarding, climbing, hiking, and much more. It allows students to explore various activities while staying active. Throughout the school year, students have the opportunity to take part in a range of sports outings.

NEW!

A concentration in flag football and volleyball is also available within the Sports and Outdoors profile. The year is divided into three segments, offering students the option to choose between the concentration and the Sports and Outdoors profile. Flag football will be offered during the first and last segments of the year, while volleyball will be available from November to March.

NEW: Artmedia

Step into the fascinating world of digital media! This profile invites you to explore diverse projects such as creating content for social media, producing podcasts, video editing, photography, animation, and interactive design. Learn to master specialized tools to bring your ideas to life while developing sought-after skills in the media and creative industries.

Design and Sewing

This profile allows students to experiment with various sewing techniques and explore the world of design. Through diverse projects, they are also led to develop entrepreneurial skills.

E-Sport

The E-Sport profile is the competitive practice of video gaming. It helps develop personal discipline, stress and emotional management, teamwork, and the ability to set goals and the means to achieve them.

Through this profile, students will also expand their knowledge of health and healthy lifestyle habits.

Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts profile is a fun course where students have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cooking, develop their skills, and gain confidence in the culinary field.

Students will learn, in a hands-on way, how to navigate the kitchen, handle basic tools, follow recipes effectively, and design their own menus.

Dance

The Dance profile aims to introduce students to a wide variety of dance styles through enjoyment and self-improvement. Personalized coaching allows students of all levels to enroll. The goal is to develop technical strength and creativity. Students will have the opportunity to perform ballet, contemporary dance, hip-hop, and many other styles. They will participate in dance competitions and leave the school’s studios to attend professional dance performances.

Arts

Arts courses offer students a unique opportunity to develop their creativity, imagination, and critical thinking. Regardless of the program selected, these options are accessible to all students at all levels, so that each may explore and cultivate their artistic potential.

Available options include:

  • Visual Arts: Explore a variety of techniques such as painting, drawing, and sculpture to bring your imagination to life.
  • Drama: Step into the world of theatre to develop expressiveness, self-confidence, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Music in semi-private lessons: Refine your musical skills in a personalized setting designed to support learning and the development of your talent.

The arts allow young people to express themselves, explore different techniques, and enjoy enriching experiences, both personally and collectively. Whether on stage, in a studio, or in front of a canvas, every student finds their voice and builds a strong foundation for artistic and personal growth.
